Lefteris Kampianakis, Senior Applications Engineer, Cirtec Medical (formerly Cactus Semiconductor)
Eleftherios (Lefteris) Kampianakis received the B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in electronic and computer engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece. He was a recipient of the Best Diploma Thesis Award on the pan-hellenic IEEE VTS & AESS Joint Greece Chapter Final/Diploma Thesis Competition for the years 2009–2011 for his work on over-the-air programmable wireless sensor networks (WSN). During his M.Sc he worked on low-cost and low-power WSN for environmental sensing exploiting backscatter communication principles. Lefteris received his PhD in 2019 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington (UW), Seattle. His PhD thesis on high datarate backscatter-based brain-computer interfaces received the Best Poster Award at the IEEE RFID 2017 and a nomination for the Yang Award for Outstanding Doctoral Student from UW. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, backscatter communication systems, and biomedical electronics. He is currently working as a Senior Applications Engineer with Cirtec Medical.
